They’re so modern for a 1971 design. They’ve aged really well, have V8 power and it’s just wild to think that they were made in the same year as this:

As the price of the Pagodas continue to rise as the 190SL is priced at insane levels, the 107s will start to go up, I’m pretty sure it is a safe bet to say they are at their bottom right now.

I’d go for one. They’re set to start appreciating, and they’re amazing cars to own. Rather reliable provided you don’t get the 380SL and stay away from the 76-84 models with the annoyingly expensive to fix automatic climate control.

I do not. With all the emissions stuff they had in the US at the time they would have made 85-hp.

My girlfriend actually wants one of these, though not in a convertible because “my hair will get messed up with the top down”. So coupe it is, I guess.

i’ve been looking around at these. the well-cared-for models are starting to increase in price: 20-30k for low mileage versions. if youre not going for a 1971 1st year, or a euro-import, you want the 560SL, which i believe are only 86-89. you can get a fairly ratty and worn down version for <10k still.
the good thing is they made a couple hundred thousand of the things, so theres always a few nearby.

A business partner has a 1985. The Euro version sure looks better.
That said, the thing is built like a tank (steers and accelerates like one too), and starts on the second revolution every single time. My thighs don’t fit under the school-bus-sized, non-tilt steering wheel, but I’d totally drive one anyway.

nah, they rated 170 in the US W108. youd have a bit less torque obviously, but few dozen less kgs to move.
